I feel like a hamster on a wheel. Last week I was so proud of myself. I got the bug to clean, and I mean – I cleaned! I scrubbed my kitchen, brillo padded my stove, and Cinderellaed the floor. (hands and knees, people!) I sweated and scrubbed and felt so accomplished. Once I finished I didn’t want anyone eating in there. For heaven’s sake, it’d get dirty again. And here I am, one week later, trying to recall how clean it actually looked. Ugh! What is the point??!!??
Then we have blasted construction going on all over my neighborhood. You know, the kind where they put up the sign – no parking 9/2 – 9/18. For some reason those signs dissappeared quickly and I just saw a new one today that says 10/5 – 10/20. Hello??? ![]()
Starting at about 7 in the morning all I hear are large trucks rumbling around my street all day, jack hammers, men whistling at different trucks to come or go… The more annoying thing is the men who are doing the different jobs on corner to corner and street to street can’t simply walk the 50 yards to the next area, they have to drive their personal cars and trucks! 2 questions I have for these men: 1. Have you ever heard of carpooling? and 2. Did you ever learn how to parallel park? These men simply stop in the street with their trucks or in front of driveways, which happened to me today. I had to leave to pick up my daughter from school. I asked someone to move it and they said ok, but kept on working. As I finally pulled away, I noticed tons of parking all around on the street. What was wrong with the curb?!? And yet, as I drive through the neighborhood, I dodge cars and trucks, cement trucks, bobcat tractors, and men in orange vests with shovels. Grumble, grumble, grumble. I guess all of it has finally gotten to me, not to mention the preparations for Aunt Flo’s visit within a few days. Please excuse my venting.
