Make it stop!

November 2, 2006

Well, my lovely Aunt Flo stopped by for a visit.  Unfortunately, preparing for her arrival and the arrival itself just happens to coincide with the plethora of Halloween candy.  AARRGGHH!!  I can’t stop myself.  Not even if I brush my teeth.  The chocolate is chanting my name from the kitchen as I sit in the back room ignoring it’s call.  The urge is fierce, and I can barely hold myself back until I fall weak to it’s tempting chocolateness and enjoy every suckle of it.  Hopefully, as Aunt Flo gets ready to leave in a few days, the temptations will begin to cease and my strong will against the candy will prevail.  It must.  I will need to loose a few pounds before weighing in for November and then the cycle of Thanksgiving and Christmas will again come to tease me.  Make it stop I say!  What happened to my good little weight watcher conscience who said, “When you snack it, track it.  When you bite it, you write it.”?  I need her back.

A side note – Abigail began running a fever yesterday afternoon and complaining of a sore throat.  She seemed pretty uppity today, but we still went to the doctor.  We did leave with an antibiotic, but we’re watching first to see if she gets worse.  She still is running a fever, but not complaining too much of her throat.  Of course, my sister and her husband are driving all the way down here from Sacramento to see her play soccer on Saturday.  She should be great by then, but we’re gonna keep a low profile tomorrow.  This doesn’t help me stay away from the candy.  It also doesn’t help that Brandon is leaving for our church’s men’s retreat for the weekend.  Again, make it stop!  (sigh)   This too shall pass.
