No Bueno

November 5, 2006

Some people have fat days, I’m having a fat weekend. I confessed in my last post about being bad, but apparently I’ve been very bad. My loving, sweet, wonderful grandma, aka Mema, asked me on Saturday if I had gained some of my weight back. Ugh! “Yes, Mema, I’m up a few pounds, but last time I weighed I was at my goal weight, so I’m fine.” Okay, got home, had some ice cream to sooth the hurt. Sunday morning, tried on a few too many outfits, unhappy with how they looked, and super-conscious about my “weight”. Went with a stretchy/knit skirt, and wore my jean jacket to conceal. Feelin’ alright about myself until… someone asked me if I was pregnant!!! I wanted to run home and cry! When I told a friend about the comment later, she was sure it came from a man. However, it came from a woman, who has children of her own, and even said, “Well, I saw a little pooch and thought you were pregnant.” I know! You’re all reading this with mouths open wide and in complete shock! Why would anyone say that to a person? I tend to be pretty open and honest with people, so I confessed my obsession with the Halloween candy and my need to lose a few pounds with a graceful smile. Then I wanted to go home and die! My sweet Jenny was ready to pounce and punch, but I calmed her down. :-) And so it begins…. I will be meeting Jenny at the Y tomorrow morning. Time to get back on track.

On a lighter note, (no pun intended), my husband is back from his retreat. He has a few welts from some paintball, which he proceeded to tell me (after showing me the welts) how much fun it was. Hmmm, we must have a different definition of fun. Anyway, it is nice to have him back home. I sleep better, I have a parenting partner, and I have adult company, not to mention the love of my life and bestest friend ever.

This week is sure to be filled with excitment for me as I tackle the piles of disqualified reflection entries, visit the dentist once again, record back-up vocals with my father-in-law, dig through bins of clothes for the approaching fall/winter weather for the girls’(in 80 degree weather no less), and start Christmas shopping on Friday with my mother-in-law.

One last note; I forgot to tell of my encounter on Friday with a disgruntled parent regarding reflections. To make a long story short, she called me at my home, chewed me out, was then made aware (by me) that she did not follow directions, got upset and hung up on me. Super fun! Can’t wait to be done with this.
