Costumes, costumes everywhere.
Whew! What a day. I volunteered to help out with the theater camp, and I did costume fitting for all of the children. Whitney, Trish and I got along pretty well through the list, however, most of the costumes are for high school aged kids, and we’re trying to fit them onto children between the ages of 5-12! I don’t think I’ve pricked my finger so much in one day ever. Tomorrow should go much quicker as we finish the rest of the fittings. The kids are having tons of fun, and Be Our Guest is the constant song ringing through our house as they practice.
I hope to be able to take time for myself and zone into blog world within the next few days to keep you all updated on our crazy week. I don’t know if it’s because this is my first year really volunteering for theater camp, or if it’s our new building, but it just all seems so much bigger and more complex than the last couple of years. The stress level and craziness was probably all the same, but I guess maybe the story of Beauty and the Beast is a big one to live up to. Our stage looks spectacular. It’s been extended and there are castle walls, stairs and rails, bookshelves and curtains everywhere. All of the cast are doing spectacular themselves. I can’t wait to see a full run through with costumes and all. Should be lots of fun, and very sweaty.
