We have had quite a few busy weekends, and with Christmas just ahead, it doesn’t look like it’s gonna let up any time soon. That’s alright though. They all seem to be filled with friends and family which are a blessing.
Catching up… Esther had her 7th birthday. We threw a family party at the house after her last soccer game. She didn’t know it, but we surprised her with a bounce house. As I was home awaiting her arrival, Brandon had her call me to tell me about the game, so that as they drove down the street and she saw her surprise, I could hear her reaction. It was awesome (of course). Then the whirlwind of soccer party after soccer party took me right into Tuesday which was when we were leaving. I had to do laundry, go through clothes bins for warmer clothes due to the temperatures FINALLY dropping, and pack. YIKES! Got on the road around 3:30pm. Not the greatest. Of course we anticipated a little traffic, but what normally takes us 45 minutes took us 2 1/2 hours this time. Oh, and Esther got carsick within that time slot as well. SUPER! She’s my puke trooper though and handled it all the way in the back by herself. Thanks, Esther! Past Magic Mountain we were sailin’ – no troubles. Our next few days were filled with good family visits, lots of down time, Thanksgiving, and of course the sales on the next day. A tradition with my mother-in-law. We made another good dent as usual. Friday night, we loaded up the kids to head back home. They had already eaten dinner, bathed, had pjs on, and all of this resulted in a non-stop drive back to LA. BEAUTIFUL!!! Slept in on Saturday and then headed over to my parents house to visit with my sister and her husband who were down visiting. Lots of good fun.
We are truly blessed to be so close to our family. My children got to visit with three of their four great-grandparents this last weekend. Such a treasure! Enjoy the pictures, and I hope to update again soon, before Christmas.
