Yum-oh, Delish, etc…

9 Dec

So, my day started at about 5:10am when my alarm went off.  I proceeded to make my way to Borders where I sat in my car along with two other couples, not quite ready to brave the early morning cold.  At about 6am a couple of cars pulled up with 6 friends inside.  They grabbed their chairs, so the games began.  We all sat outside with our doubts of the event being worthwhile.  I had to pee soooooo bad, and made good pals with my “neighbors”.  Once we got our tickets at 9am, my new buddies said they were stickin’ around and would save my place.  AWESOME!  The deal was, we get our tickets, then we can begin lining up again at 11am inside the store according to your ticket color, and then she would arrive at 1pm.  So, I went home and swapped with Brandon who went and found our buds and stayed in line for another few hours.  I took a shower, got ready, took the girls, went to Macy’s to find a top for our family pictures later this afternoon, then headed for the bookstore.  Press was everywhere.  We were interviewed by the Daily Breeze and were told to pick one up tomorrow.  🙂  1pm came and no Rachael.  The girls were soooo good.  Everyone around us was commenting on how patient and well-behaved they were.  Granted, we were waiting in the store for about 2 hours.  Then she finally arrived.  It was worth it.  Abigail had drawn a picture for her, which she totally oooed and ahhhed about, and asked Abigail if she could put it on her show.  Then Esther gave her a Barbie figurine that was on her birthday cake.  Rachael tried to turn it down at first thinking it was probably special to Esther and didn’t want her to feel obligated to give it to her, but Esther insisted and Rachael thanked for a special Christmas present.  Sarah just wanted to sit in her lap.  I told her she didn’t have time for that, but Rachael did stop to blow her a kiss.  Very sweet lady.  I wish I could’ve talked with her for a good 20 minutes or so.  So kind and personable.  It was a very fun, adventurous, exciting experience.  I will try to upload the small video Brandon took with my phone.

Now we just breath for a little bit before getting ready for Cash family pictures.  🙂
